Imam Baqir (as) told Jabir (ra) “Is it enough for a person to merely embellish oneself as our shiah (follower) by professing love for us Ahl ul Bayt (as)? No, by Allah, a person is not our follower except the one who fears Allah and obeys him. O’ Jabir our followers are not recognized except by humility, submission, honesty, praising Allah abundantly, fasting, prayers family devotion, tending to the poor, needy, debtors and orphans who live near him, saying the truth, reciting the Quran, with holding the tongue and being trustworthy for relatives in any affair.”[i]

Imam Sadiq (as) was asked about the meaning of piety to which he replied “Piety is that Allah does not miss you in the place where he has commanded you to be and does not see you where he has forbidden you from.”[i]

The Holy Prophet (s) said “When making a decision to do something think about its outcome. If it is good for your advancement and development follow it, but if it is misleading leave it.”[i]
