Imam Baqir (as) was asked about the false tradition fabricated against Abu Talib saying that Abu Talib would be in Hell. He (as) answered, “If the faith of Abu Talib is put in a scale of a balance and the faith of the people is put in the other scale the faith of Abu Talib would outweigh.”[i]

Sheikh Mateen Charbonneau is of French-Canadian descent. He was born in the United States to a Christian family, and later chose to convert to Shi’a Islam in 1999 at the age of 17, having studied both faiths. He started studying Islamic Seminary classes (Howza) in March 2013 at Imam Ali Center in Springfield, Virginia and studied abroad in Najaf al-Ashraf and Karbala and received his ‘amama (turban) from the esteemed marja’ Ayatollah Sayed Muhammad Taqi al-Modaressi in 2018. He earned a certificate from Harvard University in Islamic Studies, has filmed many documentaries about his journey to Islam, authored several books, taught in the Islamic Seminary (Howza), and is the founder of the nonprofit organization 2nd Chance Books (2014). He has lectured throughout the United States and various other countries spreading the message of Ahl ul Bayt (as). Since 2022 he has been residing in Antalya, Türkiye where he is the resident scholar of the local community and continuing his work with 2nd Chance Books.

عصمةُ أبي طالب وطهارته أعلى رتبة من عصمة وطهارة الأنبياء
قال الإمام الصادق عليه السّلام :
إنّ الله كانَ إذ لا كان ، فخلقَ الكانَ والمكانَ ، وخلق نور الأنوار الّذي نُوّرت منه الأنوار، وأجرى فيه من نُوره الّذي نُوّرت منه الأنوار.
وهو النّور الّذي خلقَ منه محمَّداً وعليَّاً، فلم يزالا نُورين أوَّلين إذْ لا شيء كُوّن قبلهما، فلم يزالا يَجريان طاهرين مُطهَّرين في الأصلاب الطَّاهرة حتَّى افترقا في أطهر طاهرين في عبد الله وأبي طالب).

:
السَّلامُ عليكَ يا شَرَفَ الوجود، السَّلامُ عليكَ يا وليَّ المعبود، السَّلامُ عليكَ يا حارس النَّبي الموعود،
السَّلامُ عليكَ يا مَن رُزِقَ ولداً هو خيرٌ مولود
السَّلامُ عليكَ يا مَن خُصّصَ بالولدِ الزّكي، الطَّاهر المُطهَّـر،
عليّ الَّذي اشْتُقَّ اسمهُ من العليّ،
هنيئاً لكَ، ثُمَّ هنيئاً لكَ من ولدٍ هو المُرتضى من رسولٍ، وأخُ الرَّسولِ وزوجُ البتول، وسيفُ اللهِ المسلول،
هنيئاً لكَ ثُمَّ هنيئاً لكَ مِن ولدٍ هو مُحمَّد المُصطفى بمنزلة هارونَ من موسى،
هنيئاً لكَ من ولدٍ هو شريكُ النّبوة والمخصوصُ بالأخوّة، وكاشفُ الغُمَّة وإمامُ الأُمَّـة وأبو الأئمة،
هنيئاً لكَ مِن ولدٍ هو قسيمُ الجنَّةِ والنَّار، ونعمةُ اللهِ على الأبرار، ونقمةُ اللهِ على الفُجّـار،
السَّلامُ عليكَ وعليهِ وعلى أبنائهِ الهُداة المعصومين ورحمة الله وبركاته..

أبي طالب عمّ رسول الله، ووالد سيّد الأوصياء صلوات الله عليهم أجمعين.
